This is unlike any power Strip you've used before. In addition to providing eight surge protected outlets, six of those outlets are controlled by a motion sensor. For instance, plug your computer into one of the two "always-live"outlets, and your monitor, desk lamp, desktop calculator, a fan, space heater, or other such electronic items that don't need to be on when no one is working at the desk into the motion-sensing outlet. The remote motion sensor can be placed on the desk or elsewhere where it will detect movement. When it "sees" you, it will turn on the devices plugged into the 6 outlets. A short time after activity is no longer sensed, it will turn all those devices off. The sensor may be placed up to 9 feet from the powerstrip. It has 120 degree coverage. The off-time may be set from 30 seconds to 30 minutes. If you leave your computer on all the time, even when you aren't there, this will help reduce your electric bill by reducing your overall energy consumption.
